eRedbook receives endorsement from Unite CPHVA

eRedbook has received official backing from the Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association, the professional organisation that represents the overwhelming majority of practitioners within the United Kingdom.

In an official statement Gavin Fergie, professional officer of Unite CPHVA, said:

“Unite CPHVA are delighted to support and endorse the digital development of the Personal Child Health Record in the form of the eRedbook.

Our members support parents and families on a daily basis in addressing the health needs of their children, and the addition of an accessible digital record will only enhance this working relationship.

Unite CPHVA look forward to participating in this development and will ensure that progress reflects the needs of Community Practitioners, Health Visitors and families".

United clinical and professional support for eRedbook

Late 2014 eRedbook received clinical assurance and endorsement by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. eRedbook is the only readily available digital alternative to the ‘red book’ or personal child health record and its development is monitored by a multi-disciplinary group consisting of members of NHS, Royal Colleges and other professional bodies. At present two NHS Trusts are piloting eRedbook, and the number of Trusts is expected to grow in 2015.

The importance of offering parents a digitised ‘red book’ was recently recognised in the NHS strategy document ‘Personalised Health and Care 2020’. With endorsement and support of two professional bodies that shape child health in the UK, and eRedbook being at a stage where it can be deployed to other UK regions, we are keen to get in touch with NHS professionals who are looking to innovate child health services.
