eRedbook First app Live with NHS Login
Date: 27 October 2019
eRedbook is the first app to go live with NHS Login providing secure access to NHS data for their users.
The eRedbook team have worked alongside NHS Digital during the pilot phase to integrate NHS Login with eRedbook as an exciting first of type. This means users signing up for eRedbook can now do so using NHS Login - a secure method of authentication that enables software providers, professional and users to connect people quickly and securely to their data, hassle free.
Sitekit, who undertook the development work with NHS Login on eRedbook earlier in the year, went live with NHS Login with their deployment partners North East London Foundation Trust this month and will now work to roll this out to the rest of London imminently.
Jill DeBene at Sitekit said:
“We are delighted to be the first app using NHS Login. Integrating NHS Login into eRedbook consolidates our partnership with the NHS on eRedbook and provides a streamlined user experience for parents providing rapid and secure access to their child’s health information. As we roll this development out across London, all parents will benefit.”
NHS Login allows organisations to be sure their users are who they say they are, providing a secure authentication programme which meets high standards of safety. Patients create a single account with which they can access numerous different services, with a one-time simple sign up process. It provides peace of mind that patients’ data is secure.
Dr Simon Eccles, chief clinical information officer and deputy chief executive of NHSX, said:
“Digital tools like the NHS App are putting the NHS into the pocket of everyone in England, and by enabling other products to use our secure login feature the NHS is helping even more patients to simply and safely take control of their own health delivering on commitments in the Long Term Plan.
