COVID 19 has changed the way the NHS works with parents and only now are trusts beginning to put into place the new working practices that will define the service for the duration of the pandemic and perhaps beyond.

Following a successful rollout of eRedbook across London giving access to child health records to 20% of babies born in England, eRedbook is now on national release available to trusts and organisations commissioned to provide maternity and health visiting services across England. 

We know how time consuming it can be to try and find links to useful websites you have found before but can’t quite remember where or when so we have compiled a list of 12 of the most useful links for Maternity and Child Health Professionals.

The eRedbook team have worked alongside NHS Digital during the pilot phase to integrate NHS Login with eRedbook as an exciting first of type which has gone live this month with our deployment partners North East London Foundation Trust.

Following on from Sitekit’s successful roll out of eRedbook across London, the NHS Long Term Plan announces that by 2021 all parents nationwide will have a choice of paper or digital Redbooks for the new babies.

eRedbook is the first app to go live with the NHS National Events Management Service providing NHS birth, screening and immunisation data direct to new parents. Sitekit, have now gone live with NEMS in North East London and will work to roll this out to the rest of London imminently.  

Sitekit has begun work on a pilot with NHS Login as an early partner with NHS Digital to help develop the service for future users.

NHS England has contracted Sitekit to develop, publish and implement the technical child health data messages using the FHIR messaging standard, flowing information from clinical records into the electronic red book.

Sitekit is working with five NHS trusts across London to field test eRedbook. The Personal Child Health Record is being connected to Child Health Information Systems across London to provide accurate up to date health information for parents and reduce administration for health professionals.

The eRedbook has won the Connected Society award at BT Connected Cities, a BT and Cabinet Office competition aimed at showcasing innovative SMEs that are shaping the cities of the future.

Life Sciences Minister George Freeman MP has announced his intention to launch a Department of Health programme to accelerate access to digital services and has cited eRedbook as an exemplar of what he wants to achieve.

eRedbook has received official backing from the Community Practitioners and Health Visitors Association, the professional organisation that represents the overwhelming majority of practitioners within the United Kingdom.

eRedbook has received clinical assurance and endorsement by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). Note (Jan 2020) - The RCPCH nolonger endorses individual Digital Personal Child Health Records and instead now works alongside the NHS Digital Child Health Programme at a national level.

Sitekit and the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) are partnering to create the UK’s first electronic Personal Child Health Record (ePCHR): the eRedbook.

The first public announcement of the eRedbook, the UK’s first electronic Personal Child Health Record (ePCHR), was made at Sitekit’s eHealth Symposium on the 18th May [2012].
